What We Offer
At Happy Notes Music Academy, we offer personalized one-on-one lessons for piano, keyboard, and recorder. Our experienced and passionate teacher, Almaré, will help you achieve your goals and reach your full potential.
Our piano lessons are designed to teach you the fundamentals of playing the piano, from basic technique and posture to more advanced skills such as sight-reading and playing with expression. Our teacher will work with you to understand your goals and tailor the lessons accordingly, so that you can progress at your own pace and enjoy the process of learning.
If you’re interested in playing the keyboard, our lessons will teach you how to create a variety of sounds and rhythms, as well as how to improvise and play along with your favourite songs. We will help you master the basics of keyboard playing and build your confidence so that you can take your skills to the next level.
For those interested in learning the recorder, we offer both one-on-one and group lessons. We will teach you the techniques and skills necessary to play the recorder, from basic finger placements and breath control to more advanced repertoire and musical expression.
At our music academy, we understand that not everyone wants to pursue music exams, and we respect that. Our lessons are designed to be flexible, so that you can learn to play an instrument for the love of it, without the pressure of exams. However, if you do choose to pursue music exams, we will guide and support you every step of the way.
Music theory is an important aspect of understanding the structure and mechanics of music, and it forms an integral part of our practical lessons. We will help you understand the basics of music theory and apply it to your instrument, so that you can gain a deeper understanding of the music you’re playing.

Lesson Prices
One-on-one lessons:
R2 500 per term
Group lessons (recorder only):

Our standard pricing is based on a school term, which typically consists of 8-10 weeks of lessons.
For learners who start lessons after the school term has already begun, we offer a pro-rata pricing option. This means that the cost of lessons will be adjusted according to the number of weeks remaining in the term.
Rest assured, we do not charge any additional administrative fees. The only additional cost you may incur are for books, which will depend on the specific music route that you choose to follow.
Lesson Times
Once you have contacted us to start lessons, we will work with you to find a suitable time that works with your schedule. We offer set times each week for our students, which ensures that you have consistency and structure in your learning. The duration of the lessons will be 35 minutes long.
